"Mind's Eye"
Flying down a narrow highway on a dark spring morning, while a bird flies into pale glass, I get a visionary flash, lightening strike splits a bough as my mind flows.
In my mind's eye, I see a scared panicked man, running, running, "To where? I don't know!"
Thorn scratches, torn breeches, scared breath, afraid of death, racing in the wood, "From What? I don't know!"
Suddenly, "What's this? a road block up ahead?" Screech goes the tires in this moving monolith called car. I come into close proximity with a state trooper with wide brim hat, nunchukas at his side, 357 Magnum in his hand, asking me if I've seen this man, in the picture he puts on exhibition.
How strange that these police are looking for the man in my mind's eye. I peruse the photo, wondering just what this human did to have so many, looking, looking, to encage him, to imprison him!
I tell these officers of the law, "I have not seen this man of whom your looking for." They let me go on my way only to be stopped, by ten more roadblocks, with anxious troopers, rocking to a chaotic beat.
In my mind's eye, I know they're looking in the wrong direction, as I vocalize to the tenth gladiator of the people, what I've seen in my mind's eye...He laughs!
Meanwhile, A few days later, the escape convict gave himself up to the authorities.
I wonder what his crime against humanity was to have such guilt as to give himself up to ones such as they. He's given himself a hard way to go!
Is there a moral to this story? Is there a lesson to learn? If only we believe the gifts God gives us upon our birth, for what I see in my mind's eye can help others if only they listen. If only we trust our insights!
I think of the later as I'm cruising down the highway, thinking of visions presented in my mind's eye.
